Various poems and essays published in now-defunct magazines and papers in Southern California and Colorado Springs spanning two decades. Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Bret couldn't wait to leave. He took to the seas . . . and spent the next twenty years yearning to get back to the mountains he loved.Writing and story telling have been a part of his life from a very early age. Friends in the area still possess comic books, poems, and short stories written by him from elementary school through high school.

He writes what he likes to read, which runs the gamut from literary fiction to "almost every genre out there". He is currently at work on a post apocalyptic action/adventure trilogy called "Suntan". The series follows three people attempting to rebuild society, each with a different motivation and philosophy that clashes with the other. Book two will be completed in September.
